The Enchanted Forest: Howard County’s Unique Amusement Park
Opened to the public on August 15, 1955, The Enchanted Forest was designed as a family oriented park in which attractions were based on popular nursery rhymes and fairy tales. The Enchanted Forest became a popular attraction, with a motel and diner across the road for those who traveled far to get there. While integrated from the outset, unlike most amusement parks in the South, there were separate bathrooms. Some of the original rides and unique characters have been restored and can be seen today at Clark’s Eliioak Farm on Clarksville Pike.
