From the roaring Patapsco River Valley to Maryland’s bold beginnings, our heritage is vital to understanding who we are. Help us tell the stories of:

● The Trailblazers who built the B&O Railroad and carved the National Road, creating the nation's first transportation corridors.

● The Enslaved and Free Black Marylanders, diverse communities, and civic leaders whose powerful legacies are being rediscovered today.

Immediate Need: Infrastructure Specialist

We are specifically seeking a new board member with strong Project Management (PM) skills to serve as a point person for building and infrastructure matters.

Board Member Commitments

As a volunteer leader, you will help guide our strategic planning and community outreach. General expectations include:

● Attending 7 meetings per year (a mix of virtual and in-person).

● Active service on at least one standing or advisory committee.

● Supporting fundraising, outreach, and local membership growth.
