In November 2021, archaeologists from MDOT SHA, led by Dr. Schablitsky and assisted by Ms. Janesko, made an important discovery in the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge on the Eastern Shore’s – the site of the cabin of Ben Ross, Sr., who had been enslaved at Thompson Farm with his family, including his daughter Araminta Ross – known around the world as crusading abolitionist Harriet Tubman.
Come hear the rest of the story as Dr. Schablitsky and Ms. Janesko share their process, techniques, and findings – including a display of artifacts from this historic site – and make themselves available to answer questions from the audience. Please call 410-480-3250 or email info@hchsmd.org to RSVP.
