A Special Joint HCHS/HCLS Event: “Baltimore and the Road to the White House” with author Stan Haynes, Tuesday, April 23rd from 7-8:30 pm at the Miller Branch. With the 2024 conventions on the horizon, join local author Stan Haynes (Ellicott City) for a discussion of the unexpected twists and surprises at the Baltimore conventions, from his publication, “The First American Political Conventions: Transforming Presidential Nominations, 1832-1872.”
Register here for our next Lunch Date with History! Former county executive Allan Kittleman will lead a discussion about the desegregation of the Howard County Public School System. Joining Mr. Kittleman will be former students at the county’s last segregated high school, Harriet Tubman High. Doug and Barbara Sands, Herman Charity, and Bessie Bordenave will share their stories of attending segregated schools in the county.
